Careers in History
Recent graduates have gone on to careers with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Social Security Administration, the History Colorado Museum, CSU’s College of Business, Swift Communications, the National Forest Service, and Department of Defense.
Graduates from our programs are teaching in many towns in Colorado, including Denver, Fort Collins, and Berthoud. Indeed, a publication from the Learning Policy Institute in September of 2016 noted that 79 to 90% of licensed classroom teachers get a job within one year of graduation and pupil enrollment should increase in the next decade.
Other recent graduates have been accepted into distinguished graduate or law programs such as those at the University of Wisconsin, Stanford University, the University of Washington, UCLA, the University of California-Davis, and the University of Minnesota.
The Department of History also hosts a College to Career event each spring that connects current students with recent graduates. In 2015, seniors were able to connect with CSU Department of History graduates working in a diverse array of places, including the National Park Service, a law office, Sava SeniorCare Consulting, the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, and a local high school.
