Minors in History
Strengthen Your Degree with a History Minor
A History minor complements any major by giving you the opportunity to explore the people, events, and ideas that have shaped our world while helping you become a stronger researcher, critical thinker, and communicator. Through the study of themes such as religion, empire, and the environment, you can deepen your interest in history while adding breadth and versatility to your degree and building skills that support your academic and career goals.

General History Minor
Pursue your interests by studying specific historical periods, geographic regions, and thematic areas such as race and gender, humans and the environment, frontiers and borderlands, and empire and revolution.
You’ll learn how to evaluate evidence, interpret historical perspectives, and communicate complex ideas clearly—essential skills that are transferable across the sciences, social sciences, business, education, and humanities.
Students seeking a History minor complete 21 credits in History, including a minimum of 12 upper-division credits (300–400 level).
