Biography

Jake is a second-year Graduate Teaching Assistant and M.A. student working under the advisement of Dr. Sarah Payne and Dr. Michael Childers in the concentration of Cultural Resource Management and Historic Preservation. His research focuses on the conservation of Western historic landscapes and structures, preserving the natural world’s cultural past.

Originally from Ankeny, Iowa, Jake has spent much of his education in and out of diverse historical internships. His experience includes American and French museums, conservation boards, and the National Park Service. He also really likes disc golf and hiking!
