Biography
A former naval intelligence officer, Dr. Mansfield has taught at both the University of Alabama, and at Miles College in Birmingham, AL. His current research interests include the protest movements of the 1960s, and the role that sports play in the African American community. He is leading this year's summer program, World War II in Europe: The Normandy Campaign (HIST 382). Sponsored in conjunction with CSU's Office of International Programs, the class is highlighted by a tour of the D-Day invasion beaches along the French coast. Students will also visit cultural sites in both London and Paris.
