Biography

George Moncaster is a Graduate Teaching Assistant and second-year M.A. student in the History Department. George's research is primarily focused on western water histories in the 20th century. He holds a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Hull, and previously completed an exchange program at Western Washington University. George is also currently the lead author and researcher of a public history project concerned with the Poudre River Trail in northern Colorado.

George has received several awards including the Outstanding Graduate Award, Top Scholar of the College of Liberal Arts Award, and the Billington Prize for Outstanding Student Citizenship in American Studies from the University of Hull.

As of 2024-2025, George is the current Graduate Workers Organizing Cooperative (GWOC) representative for the history graduate student body.
